About the Batik Guild
Founded in 1986, the Batik Guild is the world’s first organization dedicated exclusively to batik. What began as a small group of artists in London has grown into a global community, with members across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
Our members include professional artists, educators, hobbyists, and students from around the world, all united by a shared passion for batik.
The Guild is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization supported by member subscriptions. Our mission is to advance batik education, support artists, and encourage creative exploration. We do this through exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and a quarterly magazine that fosters a vibrant, collaborative community.
